Thank you for your feedback We can only apologise for the maintenace issues The Portland has faced over the past few months. However, I would like to discuss your points made, as I feel some of your statement is untrue: Rats in Kitchen - We have Pest Control doing weekly checks of the building and the problem has now been fixed. This was due to outside streets being dug up and there has been an influx of rats in Hull City Centre. Master keys - The only residents with master keys are the Student Ambassadors, which are trusted. The spare key is in a locked safe box for any lock-outs. Maintenance - This is processed on a priorirty basis. We apologise that your issues may have taken longer than others, however we have to prioritise high risk issues over items such as a lamp. No water for 48 hours - All tenants were supplied with drinking water and working toilets. Washing Machines - Since September we have had 2 washers break at separate times (both now fixed) however we have always had a functioning Laundry Room. Informing Students - We send emails to all residents regarding issues such as safety, maintenance and social events. If you are not recieving these emails, please do let me know. Bin Fire - The bin fire was on 25th October. All resisdents were evacuated from the building by the Student Ambassador and On-Call warden, plus Fire & Rescue services. The building was checked by Fire & Rescue before anyone was allowed back in the building. They do not need to do a register outside the building, as the fire did not spread into the building, meaning there was no risk to tenants. I feel it is important that these facts are clarified and please come see me for a chat if you have any other concerns. Kind Regards, Lizzie - Site Manager - USL

Thank you for your feedback We do have a warden, please see our Out of Hours number in your Welcome Handbook and on the main door to the building. This is a direct line to the Assistant Manager/OnCall Warden of the building. Any issues regarding lock-outs, noisy tenants and fire alarms should be reported directly this line. This can then be dealt with accordingly. We appreciate the problems with noisy tenants, however if this is not reported to us, we cannot solve the problem. Please come talk to me at your earliest convenience so we can help resolve this issue. Kind Regards, Lizzie - Site Manager - USL
