In 2015 HullSTARS set up a Multi-Agency Waste Management group to discuss the prevelant waste issues among the student areas in Hull. The meeting brings together Student Union and University staff, local Councillors, Hull City Council's Waste and Open Spaces Department, Neighbourhood Co-ordinators, Humberside Police, student landlords, and local residents.
It was decided that through working with student landlords and coming together collectively with other parties, together we could come up with an action plan to address any ongoing issues. Since it's creation, HullSTARS now carry out information drops every summer, arming student landlords with information to put into properties before students move in, leafleting exercises when students move in, and the University of Hull has produced a comaplaints form for members of the public to submit for review when waste issues arise in student accommodation.
Meetings are held twice a year and a record of the minutes is taken and publish below.
