Who is responsible for the Housing Fair?

The Housing Fair is organised by Hull University Union and is coordinated by HullSTARS, with assistance from the Vice President for Welfare and Community, HUU's Advice Centre and Marketing department.

When is the Housing Fair?

The date for the Housing Fair 2016/17 will take place on Tuesday, 6th December 2016.

Where will the Housing Fair be held?

The venue for the Housing Fair will be in Asylum, University House (Students' Union).

What time is the Housing Fair?

The will take place from 10am - 4pm with access from 8.30am.

How much is a stall?

The price of a stall for landlords is £50 per stall. External companies should contact hullstars.co.uk for details on pricing.

How to I book a stall for the Housing Fair?

To book, simply email hullstars@hull.ac.uk to confirm that you'd like a place and make your payment by either cheque or BACS transfer using the same details you would normally to pay for your subscription. If you are unsure of the payment details, please call 01482 465216 or email hullstars@hull.ac.uk for further details.

Is parking provided?

No. Hull University Union cannot allocate parking as fairs are held during term time, when as you'd expect, the campus is still very busy. Parking is available in our Pay and Display car parks, charged at £2 for the full day. Click here to view a map of our campus parking.

Can I have power to my stall?

Yes. Please let a staff member at HullSTARS know as soon as possible after booking if you require power. The number of stalls with power is limited, and all requests must be made before the cut off date (changes annually) to avoid disappointment.

How many people can I have on my stall?

Three. Stalls are approximately 1800mm long, which can comfortably fit three people standing, or two chairs. Numbers are restricted to ensure fairness to all of those who attend.

Can I share a stall?

Yes! If you have a friend who would like to share a stall you simply need to let us know and each pay half of the stall fee. Please be mindful that stalls are still limited to a maximum of three people per stall, and both parties need to pay otherwise one party may be responsible for paying full price.

Can I take students on viewings?

HUU discourages landlords from taking students away on the day to arrange viewings. Housing Fair's are there to allow students to gather as much information as possible and to then be able to shortlist and book viewings for the properties they would most like.

Can I get students to sign a contract on the day?

Not within the University grounds. You are welcome to invite students to come visit you at your office or the property, but in order to avoid sending out mixed messages, HUU will not permit landlords or agents to sign contracts whilst on campus.

Can I leave feedback after the event?

Yes. HullSTARS and HUU value all of the feedback we receive as it helps us to build on and ensure that the next fair is even more successful. Our most recent fair was a great success thanks to the feedback from landlords from previous years. An online survey will be sent out following the event, and used to form a report to be put forward when planning the next event.
